Dr Nazier Natha

BChD (UWC) PgDip Endodontics (UWC)
Dr Natha graduated from the University of the Western Cape in 2004 and completed his community service in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. He has since worked in upmarket, highly reputable private practices in areas such as the Foreshore, V&A Waterfront and Three Anchor Bay where he worked alongside highly experienced dentists and treated both local and foreign patients from all over the world. He also owned his own practice in Camps Bay in 2012 and joined the Kromboom Dental team in 2013. He has always been very interested in the variety of General Dentistry and enjoys seeing patients from the very young to the more senior citizens but his main focus is in the fields of Cosmetic (Aesthetic) dentistry, Crowns and Bridges, Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment) and minor Oral Surgery (wisdom teeth).

With his friendly and open approach, Dr Natha found he was having many nervous patients referred to him and helped make visiting the dentist a positive experience. His commitment to his patients and never ending endeavours toward excellence and integrity has contributed to his success. Dr Natha loves helping people, and treats every patient with kindness, respect, and appreciation. He believes that each person is unique, and strives to understand the needs of each patient in order to fulfil their dental needs with compassion, quality care and artistry.

In pursuit of excellence, Dr Natha is constantly expanding his knowledge base and keeping up to date by attending numerous professional development training days in Cosmetics, Crown and Bridge and Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment). He aims to provide a high standard of dentistry in a friendly and comfortable environment and views communication and education with patients a high priority. With years of experience and a light hearted approach, Dr Natha makes visiting the dentist an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.

In 2020, after being an integral part of the team, Dr Natha became one of the proud new owners of the practice that many patients have come to love and trust.

Dr Farah Seedat

BChD (UWC) PgDip Paediatric Dentistry (UWC) Cum Laude
Dr Farah Seedat, originally from KZN, qualified with Distinction in 2015 from the University of the Western Cape in the top 2 of her class, and went on to complete her community service for the Military (SANDF). During her undergraduate studies, she received numerous academic awards including the Golden Key society and the SADA medal for Oral Medicine and Periodontics. Dr Seedat also currently serves on the executive committee for the South African Association of Paediatric Dentistry.

Dr Seedat is truly passionate about Dentistry and loves what she does. She has experience in upmarket practices in Cape Town and joined KDC in 2020. She is currently pursuing her post graduate studies in paediatric dentistry and plans to continue studying even further after that. She is experienced in and practices all fields of dentistry, but is especially knowledgeable and passionate about Paediatrics and interceptive orthodontics. She is especially focused on laser dentistry, tongue and lip ties, airway dentistry, TMJ, sedation dentistry and orthodontics.

Being both academically and clinically driven, she is constantly pursuing excellence. She strongly believes in doing what is best for patients, and loves helping others. Her gentle and friendly bedside manner is something her patients love about her. Her passion for dentistry and helping others is evident when you meet her. She firmly believes that communication with patients is of the utmost importance, and takes her time to explain things for her patients to understand. She has years of experience in treating children, and practices all fields of paediatric dentistry. She is also highly experienced in treating patients in theatre, under conscious sedation and gas sedation. Her ultimate goal is to eradicate the fear of dentistry in children, and empower them to take care of their teeth from a young age.

Dr Seedat constantly keeps up to date with the newest developments in Dentistry by constantly attending courses, lectures and workshops, and reading up in textbooks and journals. Dr Seedat is also affiliated with the International Association of Paediatrics, and previously with the South African Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry. She holds multiple post-graduate certificates that include laser dentistry, Myobrace, airway dentistry, paediatric endodontics, to name a few.

Her patient and gentle chairside demeanour is perfect for patients who are anxious about the dentist! When she isn’t busy at work, she’s a loving wife and mom to two little boys.

Dr. Aneesa Mohamed

B.Ch.D (UWC) PDD Endodontics (UWC)
Dr Aneesa Mohamed is a graduate of the University of the Western Cape, Class of 2004. After completing her community service in Mafikeng, she served as a clinical supervisor in the Radiology Department at UWC and was a service rendering dentist at the Mitchell's Plain and Tygerberg Oral Health Centres.

In 2006, she became a full time associate at a private practice in the Southern Suburbs and joined the Kromboom Dental Team in 2011.

She has completed a post-graduate diploma in Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment) at the University of the Western Cape. Her focus is in the field of endodontics as well as restorative and aesthetic dentistry but still provides all the essential basic and preventative care. She builds confidence in her patients by explaining all of their treatment options and helping them select the most appropriate treatment to suit their needs. Her goal is to provide the highest level of care and help patients keep healthy, beautiful smiles for a lifetime.

Dr Amanda Shih

B.Ch.D (UWC)
Dr Amanda Shih obtained her dental qualification at the University of Western Cape in 2015. She completed her community service at Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein and then returned to Cape Town. She has since been working in the private sector in Cape Town.

With a particular interest in restorative and cosmetic dental treatment as well as general and preventative dentistry, Dr Shih enjoys working with people, especially patients who are anxious to be in the dental chair. She takes pride in finding ways to make visits to the dentist a rewarding experience.

Dr Shih is excited to grow her clinical knowledge and utilising the latest technological advances in dentistry to help restore the confidence in patients’ smiles. She is fluent in English, Afrikaans and Mandarin.

Dr Abdul-Basit Booley

BChD (UWC) ; PDD Orthodontics (UWC) ; MSc Orthodontics (U Warwick UK) ; MSc Dental Lasers (UniGe Italy) ; Dip Arabic (Bayyinah USA) ; PDD Implantology (UWC)
Dr. Abdul-Basit Booley graduated from the University of the Western Cape in 1991. He then ran his own practice until 2004 after which he relocated to the UK where he worked in a mixed NHS / Private Practice until 2007 while doing a masters in Orthodontics. He obtained his masters in Orthodontics (with distinction) at Warwick University (UK) in 2010 and held the position of Honorary Clinical Teaching Fellow in Orthodontics at Warwick University till 2016.

In 2012, Dr. Booley became an associate fellow at the World Class Laser Institute and completed a Masters in Laser Dentistry in 2014 at the University of Genoa (Italy). He was the first South Africa dentist to achieve a masters in Laser Dentistry.

In 2015, he relocated to his home town and in the process obtained a post graduate diploma in Implantology at the University of the Western Cape. Dr. Booley joined the Kromboom Dental team in 2015 as its resident dentist with a special interest in Orthodontics and Laser Dentistry. Since 2016 he has been a Dental Laser consultant at the University of the Western Cape, involved in research.

Along with a deep compassion for his patients, he strives to offer patients solutions to their dental needs while bringing professionalism, care and comfort to the practice.

He values the opportunity to help patients change their smiles through orthodontic treatments.

Dr Cassim Haffejee

BChD (UWC) PgDip Minor Oral Surgery (UWC)
Dr Haffejee graduated from UWC in 2015. He then went on to complete his community service at East Boom Community Health Centre in Pietermaritzburg in 2016. He’s completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Minor Oral Surgery and is currently busy with his second postgraduate diploma in Forensic Odontology. Additionally, he works part time as a supervisor and lecturer at the faculty of Dentistry at UWC. In the future, he has plans to pursue further academic studies, as well as gain more clinical experience and exposure.

He enjoys and practices all fields of general dentistry, with particular interest in minor oral surgical procedures and endodontics.

He has a calm and reassuring bedside manner, and always provides his patients with clinically sound advice. With his witty sense of humour, he will make you feel at ease!

He views patients as people, first and foremost. It's not just a mouth that he looks at, it's a human being. He sincerely believes that being allowed to provide a service for the betterment of another's health is one of the greatest rewards.

Patients love the fact that they feel listened to and cared for when they are treated by Dr Haffejee. They also enjoy some dry humour to take the mind off the procedure. They can trust him because he always puts his patients first, and ensures that their oral health care is in good and capable hands.

He keeps up to date by studying continuously, attending conferences and events, as well as regularly tunes in to online events. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, playing the guitar and is a complete running enthusiast!

Dr Raeesa Seedat

BDS (UWC) PgDip Aesthetic Dentistry (UWC)
Dr. Seedat believes in continuous learning and is eager to continue expanding her education with professional courses. She is currently studying towards a postgraduate diploma in Restorative Aesthetic Dentistry. Her gentle manner with patients always eases the whole treatment process and she is known for her patience and gentleness.

She enjoys building relationships with her patients, ensuring that they are comfortable and fully understand their treatment. She is also trained to perform treatments under gas sedation. Dr. Seedat is a huge foodie. She loves baking, travelling and spending time with friends and family in her leisure time.

Dr Tessa Badenhorst

BDS (UWC)
Dr Tessa Badenhorst qualified in 2022 from the University of the Western Cape. She went on to do her community service in Elizabeth Ross Hospital in the Free State, which she describes as the most incredible year. She is passionate about conservative restorative dentistry and encouraging the preservation of natural teeth. She enjoys restoring teeth to their most natural state. Her motto: Perfection doesn’t exist, but striving to achieve it is something she will never stop doing! Patients walking away with a smile brings her an immense amount of joy.

She strives to make patients feel comfortable and cared for, especially those who experience anxiety or fear from previous traumatic experiences. Her goal is to try and change the perception that dentists are to be feared. She makes an asserted effort to constantly check-in with her patients throughout procedures, which makes her patients feel safe and cared for whilst under her care. Her valuable characteristics of honesty and integrity, ensure that she treats patients ethically and comprehensively, and treats patients in a way that she herself would want to be treated.

She firmly believes that information is crucial, and takes her time to educate and empower patients on their own oral health, to facilitate her in achieving KDC’s collective long-term goal of aiding patients in obtaining excellent oral health and preventing the onset of dental disease.

She knows well that keeping up to date in dentistry is a part of the job. Her keen hunger for knowledge and growth is utterly beneficial in the ever-evolving field of dentistry with its fast-paced developments and advances. Being a part of dental groups, completing courses such as Bridge Program, ITI and after-hour webinars, are just a few avenues in how she pursues improvement for both her patients and herself. She firmly believes that “stagnation” is not an option, as patients deserve to be treated by clinicians who strive for continuous education.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching true-crime documentaries, and, relaxing at home. She describes herself as a foodie and loves to try new things!

Dr. Igsaan Khan

B.Ch.D (UWC) D.I.H Homeopathy Detoxification Specialist
Dr. Khan graduated from the University of the Western Cape in 1979 where he practiced in private practice until he relocated to Bristol in the UK in 1991 where he practiced and did many courses related to the non-surgical treatment of the TMJ and holistic dentistry. He has a special interest in the Dental / Whole Body connection. He uses splint therapies and orthodontics in his non-surgical treatments of the TMJ and also uses homeopathy and nutrition to benefit his patients’ recovery.

In recent years Igsaan has worked with Chiropractors and Osteopaths highlighting the relationship between dentistry and the whole body. Igsaan also has experience in treating children non surgically with Facial Jaw orthopaedics which covers the lower jaw and improving the size and position of the upper jaw. His holistic approach to dentistry involves dental homeopathy in treatment of patients suffering with dental pain and anxiety as well as his practice of mercury free dentistry.

Through his studies and research, he has gained an in-depth understanding of the impact of toxic metals on the immune system. With his expertise in the holistic side of dentistry, Igsaan is a valuable addition to the KDC Team.
